Body Composition (DXA)

The DEXA (DXA) scan provides an in-depth look at body composition — quantifying your lean, bone, and fat mass.

Ideal for folks who want to:

  • Accurately assess body fat %, bone density, visceral fat, and appendicular lean mass index (ALMI).
  • Pinpoint fat loss and muscle gain in specific areas of the body.
  • Understand long term health risks including osteoporosis, diabetes, and heart disease with advanced AI tools.

Metabolic Rate (RMR)

The Quark metabolic cart measures resting metabolic rate (RMR). This test helps identify your individual metabolism and screens for abnormally fast or slow metabolic rates not identified by generic formulas.

Ideal for folks who want to:

  • Understand their daily calorie burn and how to fuel their body optimally based on current goals.
  • Dial in a nutrition program by tracking calories or macros.
  • Learn how efficient the body is at using fat vs. carbs for fuel.

Fitness Capacity (VO2)

Test your fitness! VO2 max testing guides participants through a gradually increasing exercise workload to determine aerobic capacity and heart rate training zones.

Ideal for folks who want to:

  • Train SMARTER!
  • Identify thresholds and VO2 Max — a key longevity marker.
  • Pinpoint heart rate training zones and understand the rate of fat vs. carb burn at each intensity.

Additional Tests

The BOD POD uses air displacement to provide a quick, easy, and accurate measurement of composition (fat and fat-free mass).

Ideal for folks who want to:

  • Track progress using a method that is quick, precise, and cost-effective.
  • Go beyond BMI for a health risk screening or assessment.
  • Lose fat — not just weight!

Advanced camera, depth sensor, and image recognition technology combine to create a virtual 3D avatar of the body in a 30 second scan.

Ideal for folks who want to:

  • Compare scans side-by-side to see both visual body change and inches lost.
  • Calculate key circumference measures quickly and accurately.
  • Analyze body posture and shape.

Our health and performance lab offers access to tests like DEXA scanning (DXA), Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR), and VO2 max testing that provide a broader view of health and fitness.

Our clinic offers the FUS10N membership – a comprehensive care program for those looking for a proactive and personalized approach to healthcare. More information on the membership and what is included can be found here.

It is not required to have an advance order from your physician to book testing at the lab. For those completing a DEXA (DXA) scan, you will receive a pre-test journal upon booking your appointment courtesy of our software partner DexaFit. This journal must be completed so that Dr. Jake can review and issue an order for your DEXA scan which is required by state law. There is no extra fee for this review.

We do not take insurance for health and performance lab tests or membership fees.

Yes, in addition to whole body bone density our DEXA reports include body composition, lean indices (ALMI, etc.), and visceral fat mass, volume, and area. In addition, our software partner DexaFit provides optional AI tools for risk assessment and early detection of heart disease and insulin resistance.
